Event Description:
At Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, learn the art of making chocolate truffles in time for Valentine’s Day and create a hearty winter soup and creative accompaniment with international flavor options.
The “Bourbon Whiskey Chocolate Truffles” class is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, with registrations required by January 30. It is taught by Vicki Leeper, the chocolate diva who owns Dancing Chocolates. The cost is $40.
“Squash Soup and Soccas” will be held two weeks later on February 15, with registrations required by February 13. The class fee is $45. Gretchen Stoops is a chef and nutritional healer with training in France and a degree from the Culinary Institute of America.
Classes run from 6 to 9 pm. Registrations may be made online on the calendar listing for each class at www.artisanbarn.org or by calling 509-229-3414.
Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center on highway 195 in Uniontown in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence. The facility is fully handicap accessible and has no daily admission fee. The recent addition to the facility includes a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen used in the culinary arts program.
