Event Description:
“Summer Breezes and Sweet Sounds,” the annual outdoor concert featuring local musicians and composers, will bring music to the University of Idaho Arboretum and Botanical Garden Monday, July 9, at 7:00pm. It is sponsored by the Arboretum Associates and UI’s Lionel Hampton School of Music. Dan Bukvich, professor in the Lionel Hampton School of Music, is organizing a program highlighting various local musicians. Among the musicians scheduled to perform are Vanessa Sielert, alto saxophone, Vern Sielert, trumpet, and Navin Chettri, traditional Nepalese drumming and singing. Ensembles scheduled to perform include the Gemberling Brothers (Al, Gary and John), a UI/Washington State University brass ensemble, and Gefilte Trout, a Klezmer band.
Location:
UI Arboretum -- west side of the upper pond in the Arboretum on Nez Perce Drive, near the golf course, Parking is available on Nez Perce Drive or the golf course lot. Limited transportation from Nez Perce Drive to the concert area will be available for anyone who has difficulty walking. Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating and come 15 minutes early to allow time to find a seat.
