September 18 @ 7:00 pm | Free Show times: September 18, 7:00 PM The Dean of Students Office at the University of Idaho invites campus and community members to a free showing of The Hunting Ground, the powerful documentary that examines universities? response to sexual assault on their campuses. A panel of UI responders to sexual assault will follow the film to answer questions about the UI?s response and policies regarding sexual assault and Title IX. This event is the Katy Benoit Safety Forum, closing the UI Safety Week that is held every September to promote the ?I Got Your Back? motto of Vandals looking out for Vandals at UI through teaching bystander awareness and intervention skills to prevent violence in response to the homicide of UI graduate student Katy Benoit in August of 2011. Film Synopsis From the makers of The Invisible War (2012) comes a startling exposé of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, their institutional cover-ups and the devastating toll they take on students and their families. Weaving together verité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows the lives of several undergraduate assault survivors as they attempt to pursue ? despite incredible push back, harassment, and traumatic aftermath ? both their education and justice.
