UI Jazz Choir I & II and Jazz Band I

The Thursday, Feb. 23, concert showcases the University of Idaho Jazz Choir I and II and Jazz Band I, featuring special guests Claudio Roditi and Rene Marie. As a trumpet and flugelhorn player, Roditi has been on the jazz scene since the 1970s. A Grammy nominee, he is known for his fluid sound combining post bop and Brazilian elements.

Marie, of the Rene Marie Quartet, is well-known not only as a vocalist, but also as a composer and teacher. She uses elements of folk, R&B, classical and country to create a captivating hybrid style of jazz.

Series concert tickets go on sale Saturday, Nov. 19, and individual concert tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 5. All concerts will be held in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center and will begin at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, call 208-885-7212.
