Event Description:
The Moscow community and all Vandal fans are invited to attend Vandal Spirit Friday, the kickoff event for the 2016-17 athletic season.
5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19
Eastside Marketplace
1420 S. Blaine St.
(along Highway 8)
Moscow, ID.
It includes live music, food and beverage vendors; autograph sessions with Vandal student-athletes; an appearance by the UI marching band, cheerleaders and Joe Vandal; and booths featuring local businesses. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win prizes, including movie tickets, free pizza and UI apparel.
All attendees are encouraged to show their Vandal pride.
Tentative event schedule is as follows:
• 5 p.m.: Music by the Delta G Bottleneck Blues
• 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Autograph sessions with UI football, volleyball and basketball players
• 6 p.m.: Marching band and cheerleader performance
• 6:20 p.m.: Remarks by Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert; UI Athletic Director Rob Spear and football Coach Paul Petrino
This year’s event is sponsored and hosted by Eastside Marketplace. Other sponsors include Vandal Athletics, ESPN Palouse 1400 AM and ZFUN 106.
