Wild Women Winter Art Series - 16 sessions, 16 different topics, on Sunday afternoons from January 3 through April 24. If you have a family that is glued to the TV watching Sunday afternoon sports, this is your chance to break free for a few hours and do something new and creative! Come experiment with a new medium! Bring a friend and have a great time.
Locker hooking: We will learn the basics of locker hooking and get a feel for the materials required. We will work with canvas, fabric, rotary cutter, yarn, and the locker hook. Students will be free to create simple motifs or simply combine fabrics to make interesting patterns.
Instructor: Tracy Randall has been a resident artist at the Dahmen Barn since 2006, and is skilled in a wide variety of textile art techniques. She enjoys anything fabric or fiber art related, and wants to share her joy with you. Her degree is from the University of Idaho, where she took every art class she could get her hands on, pushing herself to created in both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional mediums. While her emphasis is in graphic design, she is happiest away from the computer keyboard, creating things with her hands. As an artisan at the Barn, she focuses on creating batik and fabric surface designs in her studio, and sewing, crocheting, making glass beads, embellishing, and making quilted wall hangings.

Materials:
The instructor will have samples of most all materials listed below, and will have canvas and locker hooks for sale if students want to purchase these items at the beginning of class. ($10.00 for both)
Materials to be supplied by students: 3 different colors (of at least ½ yard each) smooth, tightly woven, cotton fabrics
(would be handy if each student had at least a third of each fabric pre-cut into 1 ¼ inch wide strips) ½ yard rug hook canvas, Locker hook, scissors, neutral color yarn, large yarn needle, hand sewing needle, sewing thread.
