Wild Women Winter Art Series - 16 sessions, 16 different topics, on Sunday afternoons from January 3 through April 24. If you have a family that is glued to the TV watching Sunday afternoon sports, this is your chance to break free for a few hours and do something new and creative! Come experiment with a new medium! Bring a friend and have a great time.
Scrap booking from scratch: This class will show you how to create an interactive scrapbook from clever pages to the cover and binding themselves. Using chipboard, paper, even paper bags and tape, this workshop will take you step-by-step through the process. Each student will be able to create a book to suit their needs using these techniques for any size scrapbook, memory book, journal, notepad or any other paper-based book you can think of.
Learn how to create a versatile binding with pockets, slide outs, flip pages, envelopes and more. Take away step-by-step instructions for future creations.
If students happen to have scoring boards and bone folders, they should bring them!
Instructor: A Moscow native, Andrea Chavez, is a self-taught crafter. She has dabbled in just about every craft out there including embroidery of all kinds, leather work, beading, stamping, paper arts, and despite resisting the urge for many years, scrapbook making. Now she needs to up her photography abilities to put something in all the scrapbooks she makes.Most recently she started tackling a "fine art" with watercolor and finding the whole business fascinating.
Materials fee: Please plan to pay the instructor $10 the day of the class.
