Name: Wildfire Preparedness Workshop
Date: July 13, 2016
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Disability Action Center NW is offering a free workshop on Emergency Preparedness Planning on July 13, 11:00 am at their office on 505 N Main St in Moscow. After last year’s wildfires, it is important that everyone, including people with disabilities, is prepared. All individuals, with or without disabilities, can decrease the impact of a disaster by taking steps to prepare before an event occurs. An individual with a disability faces extra challenges for their safety and access to information when facing a loss of power or having to evacuate. You will learn how to prepare a bug out bag, get your yard ready to prevent fires, how to find local information on the web, and how to find the closest shelter. Information also covers how to plan for your service animal. A limited supply of free Emergency Preparedness Guide and Workbook will be given. Free refreshments. Please contact James Pickard at 208-883-0523 or email james@dacnw.org.
