Without Decor Presents: Lucky Me

June 19 - June 20 Lucky Me opens Without Décor series at Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre Moscow playwright and University of Idaho professor Robert Caisley believes that the community is ready for more drama. That's why Caisley, who has had his plays staged all over the country and even in the United Kingdom, is introducing a new series to the Palouse. Without Décor, a quarterly series featuring plays read without the sets, costumes, bright lights and other usual features of the stage, will kick off with Lucky Me, Caisley's newest published work. "Without décor" is a British term used to describe simple play readings. All the actors need is a music stand and a bottle of water - the sets, costumes, lights, scenery and other typical trappings from the plays are unnecessary. That means that Caisley can invest in professional actors for the series. The five actors who will read Lucky Me have significant experience in film, television and live stage. They all live in the Pacific Northwest. Caisley is working to raise start-up capital for the series, and says it will eventually pay for itself. Tickets will be sold by donation to encourage access for the entire community. Tickets for the Without Décor reading of Lucky Me will go on sale later this month. It is a romantic comedy with limited adult language. The doors will open at 7 p.m. for refreshments and wine June 19 and 20, and the curtain will open at 7:30 p.m. Dates and titles for future shows will be announced soon.
