Yellow Dog Flats has been playing on the Palouse since 2009. They perform a gritty mix of Americana Blues originals and covers. The current members are Gary Reed on guitar and vocals, Henry C. Willard on electric guitar and resonator guitar, Wes Bascom on percussion, and occasional guest artists. Their influences include The Band, Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, Chuck Berry, and Tom Waits. The name of the band pays tribute to the train nicknamed “The Yellow Dog” that rumbled through the flat lands of Mississippi, home to some great blues legends.
