DESCRIPTION:Our first 5 week session explores paper and books arts\; through the physically engaging process of making their own paper\, building sketchbooks and journals\, and working with ink\, cardboard\, and surprising objects\, students will both collaborate and let their own individuality run wild.\n\n\n\n9/12 Sew\, You like to draw??\n\nMake your own sketchbook/journal to capture ideas\, thoughts and images throughout this session. We will sew a simple binding and design out own covers.\n\n \n\n9/19 -Wait! We need paper!\n\nBe ready to tear\, twist\, spin\, pour\, and shake. No Pilates\, we will make our own paper from scratch! These will serve as covers for our next book.\n\n\n\n9/26 - Impressive Prints\n\nNot quite the Gutenberg press\, but fun and sort of earth shaking. Collograph prints are made by sticking all kinds of things to cardboard\, ink it up and print.\n\n\n\n10/3 - A-c-c-ordion Books (exquisite corps drawings)\n\nCollaboration is what it takes to make these long\, interesting and surprising books. This exercise will expand your drawing sills as well as your mind! And we will each end up with a totally unique book!\n\n\n\n10/10 - Flip and Fold\n\nWith simple folds we will transform our original drawings into unexpected books.
