Backyard Harvest

Backyard Harvest combats food insecurity and food waste in the Palouse and Lewis-Clark Valley through volunteer produce gleaning efforts, community gardening, and farmers market initiatives.

• In 2016 we gleaned, gathered, and distributed over 34,000 pounds of fresh food that would have otherwise went to waste.
• Since we began we have gleaned, gathered, and distributed over 275,000 pounds of fresh food
• We have built relationships with 42 distribution sites including food pantries, senior meal sites, and more
• We have engaged over 1,000 volunteers in service of increasing fresh food access in our communities.
