BookPeople Invites Local Businesses and Organizations to Apply for the 2019 Where’s Waldo on the Palouse Host Locations
The BookPeople of Moscow is inviting applications to be one of 24 Where's Waldo on the Palouse host locations this summer.  Interested businesses and organizations should send an email indicating their interest to BookPeople of Moscow at bookpeople@moscow.com by May 31.  The popular community event is now in its seventh year.  Because space on the passport is limited to 24, local businesses and organizations are encouraged to apply early to guarantee a spot.
Throughout the month of July, Waldo seekers will be searching for small, cardboard Waldos hidden in the host locations.  Staff at host locations will be responsible for welcoming the searchers and stamping or marking seachers' Waldo passports when they find the hidden Waldo.
Waldo seekers who get their passports stamped or signed at all 24 locations will bring their passports back to BookPeople of Moscow by 6 p.m., July 28 to be entered into the grand prize drawing for a deluxe set of Waldo books. The Where’s Waldo grand open house celebration and prize pick-up for drawing winners will be held on July 30 and 31 at BookPeople.
Where’s Waldo is the creation of Martin Handford, whose entertaining drawings of crowd scenes swept the world in 1987. Since then, the Where’s Waldo books have held a cherished spot on bookstore shelves the world over. There are now over 58 million Waldo books in print worldwide and they’ve been translated into eighteen languages. An entire generation has grown up searching for Waldo and his cast of wandering companions.
In celebration of Waldo's longevity and popularity, his American publisher, Candlewick Press, is once again teaming up with the American Booksellers Association and 300 independent bookstores across the country, including BookPeople of Moscow, for some hide and seek fun as well as to encourage communities to patronize their local businesses.
BookPeople is located at 521 South Main in downtown Moscow.
