City of Moscow staff will begin earthwork on the Indian Hills Park property on Wednesday, June 21st to prepare the park for the first phase of development to include the installation of a 2-5 year old playground, a 5-12 year old playground and two swings for each age group.  The project will also include the installation of tile safety surfacing, an accessible path to the playgrounds, installation of an irrigation system and turf seeding.  Playground equipment was chosen through a public input process providing citizens the ability to choose between six successful respondents to a request for proposals process.  Through in-person and online voting the Moscow Parks and Recreation Commission considering the input and selected the equipment proposed by Allplay Systems, which was confirmed by the City Council on June 19, 2017.

Funding for the projects is primarily from the Hamilton Fund bequest to the City of Moscow by Bob Hamilton for the benefit of youth recreation in Moscow.  On May 15, 2017, the City Council approved Resolution 2017-07, which designated that the remaining balance of Hamilton Funds be designated for the construction of playgrounds and accessible paths in the City's parks.  This specific project was then presented to Council on June 19, 2017, for confirmation of the required transfer of $140,000 funds for the project.  This project is also made possible by a generous donation of $25,000 from Bill Parks, long-time Moscow citizen.

Indian Hills Park is located on the northeast side of the intersection of Blaine Street and Indian Hills Drive south of the Troy Highway.  It is one of several parks identified by the City Council as a viable park property for use of Hamilton funds.
