The City of Moscow is in the process of naming a new park, with the current working name of Edible Forest Park, located along Southview Avenue, east of the intersection of Highway 95 and Southview Avenue at the south end of Moscow. During the park naming nomination period, which ran from September 12, 2018 to October 20, 2018, thirty five (35) nominations were received. From those nominations, the Moscow Tree Commission has recommended the name “Harvest Park” as the official name of the park at their November 6, 2018 meeting. This unique space is intended to provide educational opportunities and an example to the community of stewardship of a public food forest. This park is intended to create a sense of place and community pride for Moscow for generations to come.

As per City policy, a sixty day (60) public comment period will begin on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 and continue until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019. Written comments on the proposed name, “Harvest Park” must be submitted to the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center or emailed to David Schott at dschott@ci.moscow.id.us. The Moscow Tree Commission will review and consider comments at their February 5, 2019 meeting prior to making a final recommendation to the Parks and Recreation Commission and ultimately the Moscow City Council.
