Kitten Shower at the 1912 Center

It’s raining kittens.

The Humane Society of the Palouse (HSoP) will be holding a kitten shower on Sunday, May 20, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the 1912 Center in the Great Room.

As the weather heats up, hundreds of kittens arrive at HSoP. These baby kittens need more supplies than the other cats at the shelter, and they require preventative care, food, bedding, medical supplies and foster homes.

With that in mind, HSoP is throwing a kitten shower. A kitten shower is similar to a baby shower. Supplies, money and love are needed, and on May 20, those attending the kitten shower will have the chance to donate items from the HSoP wish list, they can make a monetary donation and there will be stations set up throughout the Great Room of the 1912 Center that will have information about how to care for kittens and cats, how to become a foster parent to kittens, how to care for these wee cats and how to find help in spaying or neutering your cats.

Cost is free, but folks are asked to bring a donated item from the wish list. Examples include: KMR milk replacement, kitten bottles and nipples, small stuffed animals, Science Diet wet and dry kitten food, laundry detergent, dryer sheets and kitten beds. Gift cards to Spence Hardware, Pets are People Too, Wal-mart and Petco, would also be appreciated.

If you would rather leave a cash donation, that is also appreciated.

Like a baby shower, the kitten shower will have information, but also games and yes, kittens.

So come on by the kitten shower. You’ll be helping tiny furry friends, you’ll have a chance to meet some of these cute little cats and you’ll gain valuable information all while helping HSoP.

If you have any questions about the shower, contact HSoP at 208 883-1166.
