Leadership Moscow 2017-2018

The first class of Leadership Moscow for the 2017-2018 season was held on Thursday, September 21st from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Best Western Plus University Inn. 
 
The mission of Leadership Moscow is to cultivate leaders in Moscow and Latah County by offering a concentrated, hands-on learning experience to enhance leadership skills while providing information related to the community. Leadership Moscow works to develop advocates for Moscow and its surrounding rural communities who will serve as future leaders.
 
Students were nominated by their business to participate in Leadership Moscow for the nine-month course that will run from September 2017 to May 2018. The course ranges from learning about economic development, the city, county, and state to participating in media training and finally culminating in a five-minute speech with the theme, “an issue in Moscow and my proposed solution.” 
 
Students participating in the program include Brandon Allen, US Bank Branch Manager; Deann Billing, Team Idaho Real Estate Realtor; Katti Carlson, Family Promise of the Palouse Executive Director; Andrew Clausen, University of Idaho Athletics Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement; Jennie Hall, University of Idaho College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives; Jennifer Meekhof, City of Moscow Accounts Payable and Receivables Supervisor; Rhonda Michelson, Fairfield Inn and Suite Front Office Manager; Emily Mowrer, University of Idaho Creative Services Senior Graphic Designer Supervisor; Kellisa Owens, City of Moscow Recreation Supervisor; Chloe Rambo, University of Idaho Development, Development Coordinator; Shelby Saylors, Best Western Plus University Inn Catering Director; and Kylee Strunk, Washington Trust Bank Financial Concierge. 
 
Leadership Moscow is facilitated by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and a steering committee that includes Jenny Ford, Moscow Chamber of Commerce Executive Director; Jim Miller, CHS Primeland Director of Sales and Marketing; Kim O’Neill, University of Idaho Advancement Associate Vice President for Development; Josh Larson, Fairfield Inn and Suites General Manager; Tim Helmke, University of Idaho Alumni Relations Director of Alumni Engagement; Gina Taruscio, Partnership for Economic Prosperity Executive Director.
