Libraries Rock! Latah County Library District Summer Reading Events for June 18 - 22

Families with children are invited to participate in Libraries Rock!, the Latah
County Library District’s Summer Reading Program! Summer Reading is
underway with the following events happening across the District during
the week of June 18–22.
Moscow Public Library Events:
Wednesday, June 20, 10:30 a.m. at Moscow Public Library: "Libraries Rock!"
Families are invited to come dressed for mess to paint kindness rocks to
take home or hide around town for others to discover.
Thursday, June 21, 6:00 p.m. Entertainment in the Park: Comedian Matt
Baker! Matt Baker’s performance is a combination of stunts and comedy at
East City Park, Moscow.
Branch Library Events:
Monday, June 18, 10:30 a.m. at Bovill Community Library: “Power Up Your
Day!” Participants will learn what makes a healthy breakfast. This program
is provided by Kelli Loftus with the 4-H Extension.
Wednesday, June 20, 1:00 p.m. at Genesee Community Library: “Geology
Rocks!” Reed Lewis of the Idaho Geological Survey will share information
about Idaho rocks and minerals.
Wednesday, June 20, 5:30 p.m. at Potlatch Public Library: “Sesitshaya
Marimba!” Sesitshaya Marimba Band plays traditional and contemporary
songs from Sub-Saharan Africa and shares the lively rhythmic sounds of the
sonorous Kwanongoma marimbas of Zimbabwe.
Thursday, June 21, 10:30 a.m. at Troy Community Library: “Matt Baker
Comedy + Stunt Show!” Matt Baker’s performance is a combination of
stunts and comedy.
Thursday, June 21, 12:15 p.m. at Deary Community Library: “Rock Star
Readers!” A local musician will deliver a hands-on presentation with
instruments for all ages to explore.
Friday, June 22, 10:30 a.m. at Juliaetta Community Library: “Libraries Rock:
Rock Painting!” Families are invited to paint rocks to take home or to hide
around town for others to discover.
Friday, June 22, 11:30 a.m. at Potlatch Public Library: “Summer Safety!” All
ages are invited to visit safety stations, play games, make a portable firstaid
kit, and learn ways to stay safe outdoors this summer!
Registration is not required to attend events. Youth ages 0-18 can sign up
for the Great Summer Reading Adventure, the online Summer Reading
component, at lcld.northwestreads.org, or register in person at their local
branch.
