Moscow Farmers Market – Activities for August 19th

Join us Saturday, August 19th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.

Live Performances: Live performances at Friendship Square will be provided by Cherry Sisters Revival at 9:30 a.m. followed by Bare Wires at 11:00 a.m.

Special Events: The University of Idaho, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) will be by the clock in Friendship Square from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visit their booth this Saturday for the continuation of the Summer of Science Program, education for grades kindergarten through fifth. Don’t forget to get your science passport and attend at least five events to be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Children will also have the opportunity to build their own science kit, earning different pieces at each event. The program this Saturday will feature Veterinary Science. Learn more about the work veterinarians do every day to keep animals healthy and take home a measuring tape to conduct your own veterinarian project at home. CALS veterinarian students will be on site demonstrating all aspects of their job such as animal care, animal safety, and animal training. The Human Rights Commission will be by the bus stop in Friendship Square from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visit their booth and learn about the work they have been doing and their future projects.

The UI Chess Club will be hosting chess games on Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. enjoy a table game or our giant piece set.

Volunteers with the University of Idaho’s Serving Your New Community (SYNC) will be in the market from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. helping to clean market equipment and doing some downtown beautification. Vendor of the Week: Calhoun Family Fruit from Wapato, WA.  Calhoun's specialize in tree ripened fruit such as peaches, nectarines, plums, pluots, apricots, apples, cherries and more!  Calhoun Family Fruit is a 3rd generation family farm and has been a vendor at the Moscow Farmer's Market for 11 years.

Shop the Market with Backyard Harvest: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the fountain in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.

WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market is accepting State of Washington WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks. 



Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
