Moscow Farmers Market – Activities for May 13th

May 10, 2017 (Moscow, Idaho) – Join us Saturday, May 13th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
 
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by Free Range Children at 9:30 a.m. followed by Yellow Dog Flats at 11:00 a.m.
 
Special Events: The University of Idaho, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) will be by the clock in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. offering Summer of Science programing for grades kindergarten through fifth. Visit their booth this Saturday to chat with Karsten Schumaker about nutritional meals. Schumaker is a University of Idaho 4-H Youth Development Teen Advocate for Healthy Living. Don’t forget to get your science passport and attend at least five events to be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Laura Marie McGreevy, the designer of the 2017 Market Poster, will be signing posters by the City Tent (next to the clock in Friendship Square) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
 
University of Idaho Extension, Eat Smart Idaho will be by the fountain in Friendship Square from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. visit their booth and learn about future programs happening this season.
 
Palouse Paws with a Cause will be by the fountain in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. chat with them to learn more about their organization and meet service dogs in training.
 
Vendor of the Week: crhoneybees from Potlatch, Idaho.  Product highlights include varieties of honey and honey sticks. Crhoneybees has been a vendor of the Moscow Farmers Market for 4 years.
 
Shop the Market with Backyard Harvest: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the fountain in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
 
WIC and SFMNP: The Moscow Farmers Market will be accepting WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks later this season.
 
 
 
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
