February 1, 2017 (Moscow, Idaho) — For several weeks there have been numerous moose sightings within the city limits, resulting in a high volume of calls to the Moscow Police Department and Whitcom Dispatch Center.  The Moscow Police Department and Idaho Fish and Game are well aware of the situation and are monitoring the animals.  Calls to dispatch to report sightings of the animals are not encouraged, unless there is an immediate safety threat.  Most importantly, citizens should not to feed or disturb the animals as they are wild animals and approaching them could create a safety issue.  Any citizen that feels they may be in danger as a result of the moose please do not hesitate to call 911 to report the situation.
