Part of our ongoing mission to create a thriving, sustainable economic ecosystem on the Palouse is to celebrate the people and businesses that not only demonstrate exceptional success, but also go above and beyond in their efforts to support and better the community they serve. Each year, as part of Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp, we recognize outstanding achievement in business and community engagement with the Entrepreneur of the Palouse Awards.

Entrepreneur of the Year is broken into three categories, each with their own $1,000 prize: Business, Rising Star, and Nonprofit. Nomination forms are now available on our website, and we ask for your help in identifying candidates that have had profound impact on the economic growth of our region, as well as demonstrating strong community involvement. Nominations must be received by May 1st, 2018, with the awards being given during BTE Bootcamp, which takes place June 11th-14th, 2018 in Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID.

The Business winner must have been located on the Palouse for at least five years. Its establishment or growth will have affected the Palouse region, and a commitment to community engagement is required. The Rising Star category is open to both businesses and individuals who are new to the Palouse region. They will have had a recent impact on the region, and have a commitment to this area, demonstrated through community activism or volunteering. The Nonprofit winner must have served the Palouse region for at least five years, and provide an economic impact to the region.

Past winners represent the diverse economic landscape in our region, and include Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, College Hill Custom Threads, Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, Latah Trail Foundation, and Sangria Grille. We hope to show that there is no one way to make a profound impact on your community, and that giving back doesn’t have to come at the expense of economic success. We hope you will take the time to help us identify and reward those who set themselves apart in our generous and tight-knit region.
