 The Miracle Worker

Written by WILLIAM GIBSON.
Based on the true story of HELEN KELLER and ANNIE SULLIVAN.

Experience the most inspirational story of human triumph to ever grace the stage. Based on the true life of Helen Keller, the Regional Theatre of the Palouse will be playing The Miracle Worker September 22nd-30th.
Expressed through memories, the play portrays the moving relationship of the deafblind Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan. The Miracle Worker is a classic play by William Gibson, based on Helen Keller's autobiography The Story of My Life. This true story shows the powerful transformation of Helen Keller from a lost child to an influential public figure.
Helen is a challenging and disobedient child, trapped in a world with no way to communicate. In their last attempt to reach their daughter, her parents bring in Sullivan. It will take all of Sullivan’s determination, patience and creativity to help Helen find her way into understanding. Together, they overcome tremendous obstacles when they find victory in a single, magnificent word.
This classic show is a must-see. Featuring scenes of remarkable physical and emotional weight, crowds will feel the impact of Helen’s stirring narrative. A testament to the resilience of the human spirit, The Miracle Worker is an experience beyond compare.
RTOP’s performance of The Miracle Worker  is directed by Michael Todd with costume design by several RTOP Costuming Interns from WSU under the supervision of John Rich.
