SMART Transit Announces New Executive Director

SMART Transit has named Daniel Gray as its new executive director, taking the position on June 12, 2017.  A fourth-generation Idahoan, Gray grew up in the Rathdrum area before moving to Moscow in 2010 to pursue undergraduate degrees in political science and philosophy. He then moved on to complete a Master’s of Public Administration while serving both as a research and teaching assistant for the Department of Politics and Philosophy for the past two years as well as a grants management intern for the City of Moscow during the spring of 2017.
 
Gray notes, “I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside SMART’s board of directors and our very talented professional staff, in order to ensure that SMART will remain a central and accessible service within the Moscow community, and will also continue to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our riders.”
 
Board Chair and Latah County Commission David McGraw says of the hire, “Daniel has risen to top as an up and coming professional resource for SMART and our community as a whole.  We’re proud to have him join the team and I look forward to working with him.”
 
SMART Transit's current services are focused on demand response and fare-free fixed route transportation in Moscow, Idaho.
