The Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre is proud to announce the addition of ADA closed movie captioning and audio description devices for digital films. Through a generous grant from the Moscow Women’s Giving Circle during the 2017 grant cycle, this system will be make digital films accessible to persons to access and enjoy digital films at the Kenworthy. As part of the Kenworthy mission it is our goal to provide high quality arts experiences to all audiences.

Going to the movies is a quintessential American experience. “Movie theaters continue to draw more people than all theme parks and major U.S. sports combined.” MPAA, Theatrical Market Statistics 2014. Captioning makes movies accessible to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and who are unable to benefit from the sound amplification provided by movie theaters' assistive listening receivers. By providing the necessary equipment the Kenworthy cinematic programing will be accessible to all audiences and expand our reach in the community.

Our hope is that these new advances will dramatically enhance the movie going experience for our guests. These devices are available for all showtimes for films that offer captions or descriptions.
