Festival Dance & Performing Arts

Festival Dance is constantly on the move! They believe in the power of the arts to educate, enrich and enlighten people of all ages in communities of all sizes. They have been serving our region proudly for over 40 years, reaching 15,000 people; 5,000 youth each year.

Their mission is to bring the arts to the people and the people to the arts, and they fulfill this mission with sparkling performances, education and outreach programs every month of the year. Through the Great Performances Series they have brought to the area over 80 different touring dance companies, musical theatre and world dance and music.

Their educational and outreach programs touch the lives of students in 15 communities in 5 counties in Idaho and Washington. A wide variety of dance styles are taught at the Festival Dance Academy in Moscow on the UI campus, and at outreach dance schools in Lapwai, Troy and Genesee. Discover Dance classes are offered in area schools by their professional instructors. Festival Youthreach makes it possible for area students to experience fantastic programs by world class touring artists. Both Youthreach and Discover Dance programs are offered free to all area schools.

There's also the annual Missoula Children's Theatre residency, summer dance and musical theatre workshops and performances around town.
